Requirements
- CPC and/or CCS-P certification (Required).
- Physician coding and compliance experience with strong background in Evaluation and Management (E&M) services.
- Training and presentation experience with physicians and other clinicians individually and in groups.
- Accomplished in preparing PowerPoint presentations and supplemental training materials.
- Previous experience in auditing and coding professional clinical documentation (handwritten and electronic records).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel).
- Strong public speaking and communication skills.
- Well-versed in CMS, federal and local clinical documentation and compliance guidelines.
- Knowledge of CPT, ICD-9-CM, HCPCS codes, E&M Documentation Guidelines, and PATH guidelines.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (Associates degree in Nursing or relevant field considered).
- Valid Driver’s License for occasional travel to satellite locations.
Responsibilities
- Support and participate in educational activities to improve the quality, completeness and accuracy of clinical documentation for Cooper University Physicians (CUP).
- Prepare PowerPoint presentations and other supplemental training materials.
- Conduct training sessions with physicians and other clinicians both individually and in groups.
- Audit professional clinical documentation for both handwritten and electronic medical records.
- Travel to CUH satellite locations as necessary.
