Requirements
- MLS degree and/or demonstrated relevant professional research experience.
- 4-6 years of experience providing research in a private law firm, academic law library, or special library/research center.
- Experience with legal and business information resources and online database searching.
- Proficiency in Lexis, Westlaw, and other standard legal research databases.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Ability to manage and prioritize competing deadlines.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
- Conduct legal, business, and other research and reference work utilizing legal and non-legal information resources.
- Conduct effective reference interviews and distill research results into clear and concise reports of findings.
- Evaluate diverse information sources for currency, reliability, relevance, and cost-effectiveness.
- Assist attorneys and legal assistants in the use of legal research tools and services.
- Maintain research proficiency across business, legal, legislative, analytics, and docket resources.
- Utilize request tracking software to track and process research requests.
