Requirements

  • Advanced degree (Master or PhD) in Epidemiology, Public Health, or a related field.
  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years of proven experience in applied epidemiology and global health.
  • Demonstrated experience in outbreak investigation and emergency response.
  • Strong knowledge of global health security principles and frameworks.
  • Experience working with government health systems and international organizations.
  • Advanced expertise in applied epidemiology and strong analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in epidemiological software such as R, Stata, or SAS.
  • Advanced understanding of zoonotic diseases and emerging infectious diseases.
  • Previous leadership or advisory role in large-scale public health programs.
  • Professional proficiency in spoken and written Bahasa Indonesia.
  • Fluency in English (written and verbal) with minimum edits required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-level technical guidance on epidemiological methods, surveillance systems, risk communications, and outbreak investigations.
  • Lead the design, assessment, and recommendations for zoonotic disease surveillance and early warning systems.
  • Lead the development of One Health guidelines for zoonotic prevention and control within the pandemic preparedness plan.
  • Analyze epidemiological data to inform policy development for zoonotic disease prevention and One Health data systems.
  • Mentor and build capacity of national and sub-national epidemiology teams.
  • Participate in coordination and responses to infectious disease outbreaks and public health emergencies.
  • Contribute to technical reports, publications, and strategic documents.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align strategies and minimize duplication of efforts.
  • Participate in bi-weekly coordination meetings with the U.S. Embassy Jakarta ECON Health Unit.
