Requirements
- 15+ years of progressive audit experience.
- At least 5 years operating within a public life science or pharma setting.
- CPA or CIA certification required.
- Extensive early career experience in a Big 4 or top-tier national accounting firm serving public life science or pharma clients.
- Proven track record of launching, scaling, or restructuring an internal audit function.
- Ability to act as a trusted advisor to finance, legal, IT, compliance, risk management, and business leaders.
- Willingness to execute granular testing and draft documentation during early building phases.
Responsibilities
- Build, scale and lead the global internal audit function, including developing vision, hiring plans, and using external consultants.
- Establish the Internal Audit Charter and develop framework, methodologies, and programs.
- Collaborate with legal and compliance to execute periodic enterprise risk management assessments.
- Design and execute risk-based internal audit plans, mapping coverage to financial and operational vulnerabilities.
- Assess existing internal controls, identify gaps, and provide recommendations for strengthening the control environment.
- Develop communication framework for the Audit Committee and Senior Management.
- Ensure organizational processes comply with federal, state, and local laws and industry standards.
- Leverage technology, automation, data analytics, and AI to enhance audit quality.
