Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, statistics, mathematics, public health, healthcare administration, data science, or related field (Advanced degree preferred).
  • 8+ years of experience in healthcare analytics, medical economics, or actuarial analytics with a focus on medical cost, utilization, or financial metrics.
  • Deep understanding of healthcare claims data structures, medical coding (ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS), and reimbursement concepts (DRGs, capitation, fee-for-service, value-based models).
  • Strong SQL skills required; experience with Python or R preferred.
  • Ability to assess data quality, investigate discrepancies, and partner with technical teams to improve data integrity.
  • Proven problem-solving, critical thinking, and project management skills.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders at multiple levels of the organization.
  • Home internet meeting minimum 25 Mbps download / 10 Mbps upload speeds.
  • Ability to maintain a dedicated, private workspace to protect PHI/HIPAA information.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and define statistical analyses to identify cost, utilization, and performance drivers across populations, markets, and payer arrangements.
  • Partner with data, actuarial, and analytics teams to validate healthcare claims data structures, ensure data accuracy, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Apply economic insights to strengthen impact modeling and quantify financial and operational implications of business initiatives.
  • Develop experimental designs for new program initiatives to ensure impact analysis readiness.
  • Translate complex claims, reimbursement, and utilization data into clear, actionable recommendations for cross-functional stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Identify trends, anomalies, and emerging opportunities within performance data to inform value-based care strategy.
