Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience with backend development (PHP or Python), databases, and frontend development (JavaScript).
- Proven track record of delivering features end-to-end, from concept through prototyping to production.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a pragmatic approach to innovation and new technologies.
- Ability to work autonomously in a small, fast-moving team while managing priorities independently.
- Product-oriented mindset capable of translating user needs into practical, impactful solutions.
- Experience writing automated tests, reviewing code, and producing clear technical documentation.
- Understanding of security vulnerabilities and secure implementation practices.
- Excellent English communication skills.
- Comfortable working in a fully remote and agile environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, prototype, and deliver new features across backend (PHP) and frontend (JavaScript) to extend Matomo’s core platform capabilities.
- Own innovation initiatives from initial concept and prototyping through to final deployment and integration.
- Explore and validate new product ideas, including AI-powered insights and advanced analytics features.
- Balance rapid development speed with sustainable engineering quality, security, and scalability.
- Collaborate with co-founders and senior engineers on technical trade-offs, code reviews, and documentation.
