Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) or Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from an accredited institution.
- Active membership in good standing with a relevant Bar Association or Law Society.
- 2–3+ years of experience practicing law.
- Experience in-house at a technology or SaaS company preferred.
- Top-tier law firm training preferred.
- Proven track record negotiating commercial technology transactions.
- Strong foundational knowledge of data privacy frameworks.
- Familiarity with or interest in AI legal issues and technology ethics.
- Exceptional drafting and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements including SaaS, MSAs, and professional services contracts.
- Structure and negotiate strategic partnership, channel, and reseller agreements.
- Partner with internal teams to provide risk-adjusted legal advice and streamline contract cycles.
- Act as embedded product counsel to identify regulatory and intellectual property risks in product development.
- Advise on global data privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, PIPEDA) and AI regulatory frameworks.
- Manage disputes, litigation, and external counsel relationships.
- Support corporate governance, employment law, and intellectual property management.
