Requirements
- Direct experience in emergency room care, bedside care, medical scribing and coding/billing, or quality information systems.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Teams).
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to synthesize data.
- High standards for accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to navigate EMR systems and learn new technology.
- Strong self-organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple accounts.
- Capacity to maintain PHI security and confidentiality.
- Availability to work every other weekend and rotate holidays.
- Professional credentials as an RN or LPN are preferred.
- Prior experience with stroke-related cases is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Categorize, code, interpret, and summarize registry and case information from nuanced patient medical records.
- Ensure high-accuracy submission of data in specified registries or measure data repositories.
- Prioritize and manage concurrent tasks for multiple accounts within tight deadlines.
- Navigate electronic medical records (EMR) and registry entry tools to troubleshoot technical issues.
- Contribute to team best practices, data dictionaries, and abstraction guidelines.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of mandated regulatory and publicly reported data requirements.
- Perform concurrent reviews as part of a 7-day operational schedule, including rotating weekend and holiday coverage.
