Requirements
- Direct experience in emergency room care, bedside care, medical scribing, coding/billing, or quality information systems.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Teams) and navigating search engines.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to synthesize data.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple concurrent accounts.
- Demonstrated technical savvy and desire to learn new systems.
- Availability to work every other weekend and rotate holidays as required by 7-day operational schedule.
- Strong communication and self-organizational skills.
- Commitment to keeping PHI secure and confidential.
Responsibilities
- Categorize, code, summarize, interpret, and calculate registry/case information from patient medical records.
- Ensure quality submission of all data in specified registries or measure data repositories with high accuracy.
- Prioritize and manage multiple concurrent tasks to meet tight deadlines.
- Navigate EMRs and registry/case entry tools while troubleshooting technical issues.
- Contribute to team best practices, data dictionaries, and abstraction guidelines.
- Monitor and maintain knowledge of regulatory/publicly reported data requirements from federal, state, and payer agencies.
