Requirements
- Experience in Mechanical Engineering Design and Drafting.
- Strong working knowledge of California Title 24 (especially Part 6 Energy Code).
- Proficiency in Revit MEP (BIM modeling).
- Experience with AutoCAD (plus).
- Familiarity with energy modeling tools (CBECC-Res, EnergyPro, IESVE, etc.) strongly preferred.
- Ability to work independently.
- Knowledge of CALGreen requirements and local California building, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing codes.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical (HVAC), electrical (power, lighting, low-voltage), and plumbing systems from schematic design through construction documents and construction administration phases.
- Perform load calculations, equipment selection, duct/pipe sizing, lighting calculations, and power distribution design using industry-standard software.
- Ensure full compliance with California Title 24, Part 6 (Energy Code) including prescriptive and performance paths and heat pump integration.
- Support energy modeling efforts and prepare Title 24 compliance documentation.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineering lead, architects, and structural engineers to deliver coordinated, constructible, and energy-efficient MEP systems.
