Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of electrical design experience.
- Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
- Strong working knowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards, and design guidelines.
- Proficiency in electrical engineering calculations including lighting photometry, voltage drop, short-circuit, and load calculations.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- LEED accreditation or sustainable design experience preferred.
- Experience with healthcare, science and technology, education, or commercial buildings preferred.
- Knowledge of HCAI / OSHPD standards is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Responsibilities
- Develop electrical system designs in accordance with project scope, client requirements, and industry standards.
- Perform engineering planning, design, and construction administration for power, lighting, fire alarm, and nurse call systems.
- Perform existing building surveys and document current electrical and fire alarm conditions.
- Prepare, edit, and coordinate electrical specifications and construction documents.
- Author engineering reports, assessment reports, and Basis of Design (BOD) documents.
- Coordinate with internal project teams, architects, and other engineering disciplines.
- Participate in and lead technical discussions, design coordination meetings, and client presentations.
- Support construction administration activities, including RFIs, submittal reviews, and field coordination.
- Assist Project Managers with technical input, schedule coordination, and project execution.
