Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related quantitative field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Proficiency in Python, including scripting and working with data structures.
- Working knowledge of SQL for querying, joins, and schema reading.
- Experience with cloud environments (GCP, AWS, Azure).
- Familiarity with data engineering concepts such as ETL/ELT, APIs, and data pipelines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ownership mindset with the ability to follow tasks through to completion.
- Exposure to GCP preferred.
- Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools like Airflow or Argo preferred.
- Experience with BigQuery, dbt, Spark, Kafka, Iceberg, containerization, Kubernetes, or Infrastructure as Code preferred.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute well-defined data engineering tasks including modifying data models, writing ingestion scripts, and updating transformations.
- Orchestrate data flow through the medallion lakehouse architecture.
- Deploy, execute, and monitor data jobs and workflows, responding to failures using runbooks.
- Author robust Python and SQL code following team conventions and standards.
- Conduct code reviews and implement unit tests for data pipelines.
- Collaborate in agile rituals and document technical builds and decisions.
- Partner with Analytics, MLE, and Product stakeholders to understand data usage and improve pipelines.
