Requirements
- Proven delivery of large distributed systems.
- Strong systems-design instincts with deep understanding of latency, consistency, availability, scaling, and cost tradeoffs.
- Solid experience with cloud-native architectures (microservices, containers/Kubernetes, IaC).
- Experience defining SLOs/SLIs, capacity planning, and driving performance/reliability.
- Excellent coding and design skills (Go preferred, or Python/C/C++/Rust).
- Experience with AI-assisted developer tools and workflows.
- Familiarity with streaming/messaging systems (e.g., Kafka).
- Familiarity with observability tooling (Prometheus/Grafana or equivalents).
- Strong communication and ability to influence stakeholders without authority.
Responsibilities
- Drive technical strategy and roadmap.
- Proactively define architectural vision and prioritize work to unlock platform improvements.
- Lead end-to-end delivery of large, cross-functional projects.
- Own architecture, reliability, performance and cost for critical systems.
- Define SLOs/SLIs and lead incident response.
- Improve observability, automation, and operational readiness.
- Align stakeholders and remove blockers across Product and Design teams.
- Mentor and grow engineering talent.
- Represent engineering internally and externally.
