Requirements
- 3+ years of experience managing software engineering teams, including hiring, performance management, and career development.
- 5+ years of technical leadership experience with focus on database, storage, or data infrastructure.
- Proven track record of shipping infrastructure or database products with strong instincts for prioritization and scope management.
- Sufficient literacy in distributed systems, consistency models, conflict resolution, and replication topologies.
- Demonstrated ability to hire and grow high-performing teams in competitive markets.
- Customer-oriented mindset for infrastructure products with the ability to navigate complex roadmap trade-offs.
- Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure (preferred).
- Familiarity with k8s in production environments (preferred).
- Understanding of CRDTs, offline-first architectures, or local-first software (preferred).
- Background in Rust, C++, or systems-level programming (preferred).
- Exposure to query engines or query language development (preferred).
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of 8–12 engineers across data sync, query engine, and embedded database performance workstreams.
- Own delivery for technical programs, managing milestones, performance investments, and technical debt.
- Build and maintain a strong hiring pipeline to attract and close senior engineering talent.
- Partner with senior engineers to influence technical direction and shield the team from organizational friction.
- Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to shape and prioritize the team roadmap.
- Represent the team to leadership and customers through status updates and clear technical communication.
