Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • 2–5 years of recent bedside clinical experience.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, clinical workflows, and patient safety principles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills across clinical and administrative stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and comfort working with data and reporting tools.
  • Experience or exposure to peer review, medical records coordination, claims, or risk management processes is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with malpractice reporting and risk management platforms (e.g., Clarity, Candello, or similar) is a plus.
  • Analytical mindset with interest in progressing into senior-level healthcare risk management roles.

Responsibilities

  • Manage clinical event intake processes, including SAFE hotline reports, near misses, and adverse events, ensuring accurate documentation and coding for peer review and reporting purposes.
  • Support claims reporting activities by preparing and submitting documentation to malpractice carriers in a timely and compliant manner.
  • Maintain and manage risk management systems and databases, ensuring data accuracy, updates, and integrity across platforms such as Origami and related tools.
  • Analyze clinical and operational data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for patient safety improvement, producing clear reports for leadership and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate peer review activities, including medical records retrieval and support for case preparation for patient advocacy and review committees.
  • Collaborate with clinicians, hospital partners, and internal teams to support risk mitigation initiatives and provide guidance on event reporting processes.
  • Assist with educational initiatives and training coordination in partnership with learning and development teams and external stakeholders.
