Responsibilities

  • Track and monitor pending patient referrals after submission.
  • Contact specialist offices via phone, fax, and secure portals to verify referral status.
  • Follow up on outstanding referrals and appointment requests.
  • Investigate scheduling obstacles and referral delays.
  • Identify alternative providers when specialists are unavailable.
  • Communicate updates and next steps to patients.
  • Utilize internal resource guides to locate appropriate specialists.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation within internal systems.
  • Collaborate with Scheduling Coordinators to ensure workflow efficiency.
  • Cross-train across multiple coordination functions.
