Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Technology, or a related field, preferably with a controls major.
- 2+ years of IEC 61131-3/PLC programming experience (structured text and function blocks).
- 2+ years of SCADA development experience.
- Proficiency with industrial protocols (Modbus-TCP, DNP3, OPC-UA, IEC 61850, ICCP).
- Experience setting up virtual machines on physical servers.
- Familiarity with PLC/controls hardware such as SEL-RTACs and ControlLogix.
- Working knowledge of programming languages; Python is a plus.
- Experience generating project and commissioning documentation.
- Ability to travel 20-30% for project requirements.
- Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop monitoring and control systems for utility-scale renewable energy projects.
- Program, install, troubleshoot, test, and commission RTUs, PLCs, and HMIs for solar, battery storage, and EMS applications.
- Develop detailed design documentation, including system architecture diagrams, points lists, and logic diagrams.
- Coordinate with field technicians to support on-site installation and commissioning efforts.
- Utilize diagnostic tools such as Wireshark and Putty to troubleshoot complex control systems.
- Lead or participate in continuous improvement programs to enhance system reliability and eliminate failure points.
