Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Public Administration, Public Policy, Government, Business Administration, or related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of direct experience at a consulting firm, civic organization, non-profit, or government entity.
- Experience developing local housing strategies, affordable housing development, or community development initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience with land use, tax incentives, and redevelopment of vacant or distressed properties.
- Demonstrated project management experience leading complex engagements.
- Proven experience producing written policy products such as implementation plans, guidebooks, or toolkits.
- Experience working with smaller or capacity-constrained communities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
- Willingness to travel occasionally.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
Responsibilities
- Lead tasks within large and small technical assistance projects supporting cities, regions, and states in designing and implementing housing policies.
- Draft plans, guidebooks, and written products that integrate economic incentives, land‑use strategies, and development readiness tools.
- Oversee the development of plans and toolkits, including management of authors, designers, and subject-matter experts.
- Manage project budgets, lead teams, and oversee deliverables while ensuring clear communication with clients.
- Facilitate stakeholder engagements involving governments, developers, and other partners to identify challenges and build consensus.
