Requirements
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in mechanical engineering or equivalent senior experience.
- Experience leading HVAC and mechanical systems design for building projects.
- Proficiency in Revit MEP.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Proficiency in load and energy modeling software, such as Trane Trace or Carrier HAP.
- Deep understanding of mechanical engineering workflows.
- Ability to explain engineering design decisions and logic.
- Ability to critically evaluate industry practices.
Responsibilities
- Detail day-to-day and project-to-project engineering workflows.
- Discuss anonymized projects to clarify design intent.
- Pressure-test product ideas and prototypes to identify time-saving opportunities and risks.
- Map cross-disciplinary hand-offs between mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural, and architectural teams to identify coordination breakdowns.
- Analyze and categorize engineering tasks to determine which require human judgment versus those suitable for automation.
