Requirements
- Active DoD security clearance (TS/SCI preferred; minimum active Secret with ability to obtain TS/SCI).
- Production experience with Apache Iceberg, object storage, and Postgres.
- Experience with columnar/OLAP engines such as Trino, DuckDB, or ClickHouse.
- Proficiency with Kafka, Strimzi, and Flink for streaming and integration.
- Expertise in data pipeline orchestration (Airflow, Dagster, or Argo Workflows).
- Understanding of data governance, ABAC/RBAC patterns, and OIDC/OAuth.
- Strong SQL skills for analytical and operational schema design.
- Production Kubernetes experience (deployments, operators, CRDs, networking).
- Strong Linux fundamentals and container runtime experience.
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform or Pulumi.
- Familiarity with GitOps patterns using Flux or ArgoCD.
- Comfort with on-site, restricted environment work when required.
Responsibilities
- Deploy and harden UDS Data Capability in mission hero environments.
- Integrate UDS Data Capability with existing systems including Big Bang, legacy databases, and identity providers.
- Build data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and cross-domain movement.
- Operate deployed systems including performance tuning, backup, and incident response.
- Generate accreditation artifacts like STIG evidence and cATO documentation.
- Provide field feedback to product and engineering teams.
- Train customer teams through runbooks and knowledge transfer sessions.
- Mentor junior Data Engineer FDEs through pairing and design reviews.
