Job Details

Experience: 1-2 Years’ experience with GIS and/or GPS field collection of utilities

Requirements

Associate degree or similar technical training in underground utility mapping.
1-2 years of experience with GIS and/or GPS field collection of utilities.
Ability to interpret engineering and utility as-built drawings.
Proficiency with GIS, CADD, and database systems.
Ability to travel up to 60% of the time.
Ability to pass a background check for military installation access.

Responsibilities

Collect, attribute, and deliver GIS utility data for the DoD.
Investigate, locate, and designate utilities using methods like GPR and EMF locators.
Scan and interpret hardcopy engineering drawings, PDFs, and CADD sources for attribution.
Implement georeferencing, coordinate geometry, and digitizing techniques.
Create, edit, and query geodatabases conforming to DoD standards (SDSFIE).
Open manholes for utility inspection as required.
