Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering
- Deep expertise in dimensional modeling (Kimball methodology, star/snowflake schema)
- Experience leading or contributing to data warehouse migrations
- Advanced proficiency with SQL and Python
- Strong command of dbt (custom tests, macros, packages)
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake & Redshift
- Experience implementing data hygiene frameworks and monitoring
- Ability to operate with autonomy
- Strong communication skills
- Passion for social impact work
Responsibilities
- Partner directly with the Director of Data to translate platform vision into engineering execution
- Lead the design and implementation of Kimball-style dimensional models and star schema architectures
- Own and enforce data hygiene standards across the platform
- Design, build, and maintain production-grade data pipelines
- Develop and champion best practices for data modeling, transformation, and testing
- Drive the extraction and codification of business logic from existing systems
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure data models meet reporting needs
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Data Engineer I team members
- Contribute to architectural decisions and participate in design reviews
- Support and improve documentation standards
