Requirements
- 2+ years of engineering leadership experience.
- 7+ years of software engineering experience (backend focus).
- Background in regulated financial infrastructure, brokerage, or exchanges.
- Experience designing/operating mission-critical, high-availability systems.
- Understanding of compliance obligations, data sensitivity, and insider trading.
- Strong knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies.
- History of delivering complex, scalable solutions.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills.
- Experience leading distributed or remote teams.
- Proven experience using AI development tools.
Responsibilities
- Lead team in exploring new technologies and practices to build a regulated trading platform.
- Collaborate with Product and Compliance to develop solutions aligned with strategic objectives.
- Utilize data and metrics (delivery velocity, reliability SLOs, compliance posture) to guide decision-making.
- Invest in team mentorship, growth, and engineering leadership development.
- Oversee development and modernisation of Java, Go, and Kotlin codebases.
- Manage engineering processes including sprint planning, on-call, incident response, and code review.
- Build cross-functional partnerships with legal and compliance teams.
- Champion AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot.
- Maintain awareness of industry trends in prediction markets and trading infrastructure.
