Requirements
- Proven experience standing up front-end engineering organizations.
- Deep fluency in Next.js (App Router), React, TypeScript, and modern build tooling (e.g., Turborepo, Rspack).
- Experience leading multi-team web applications with micro-frontend architectures.
- Ownership of a transactional customer journey (discovery, cart, checkout, payment) and BFF architectures.
- Practical AI fluency (design-to-code workflows, AI-assisted testing, AI-powered product features).
- Expertise in design systems, including tokens, theming, and cross-platform consistency.
- Expertise in front-end performance monitoring (Core Web Vitals, RUM).
- Experience leading engineering managers and developing teams.
- Availability to travel up to 5 days per quarter for team gatherings.
Responsibilities
- Own front-end platform and architecture (Next.js, React, TypeScript, Astro), including micro-frontend strategies and monorepo management.
- Define opinionated paths for deployment, CI/CD, observability, and performance budgets.
- Own full ordering experience from discovery through cart, checkout, and payment.
- Drive AI-native front-end development, including design-to-code pipelines and AI-assisted product features.
- Ensure front ends are machine-readable and API-first to support AI agents.
- Own the design system as infrastructure (tokens, theming, documentation).
- Lead and develop three engineering teams, managing hiring and performance.
- Maintain high technical standards through design reviews and performance analysis.
