Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in merchandising, category management, or related fields
- 3+ years of experience leading and managing remote or distributed teams
- Strong background in building and executing category strategies at scale
- Advanced analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and retail or e-commerce data systems
- Strong financial acumen with experience in forecasting, modeling, and performance tracking
- Excellent communication and executive presence with ability to influence senior stakeholders
- Proven ability to manage complex, fast-changing environments and competing priorities
- Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring and developing high-performing teams
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
Responsibilities
- Define and own the long-term category vision aligned with business strategy and financial goals
- Identify and drive enterprise-level growth, innovation, and competitive advantage opportunities
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing category management team
- Establish category frameworks, processes, and best practices across the organization
- Oversee category strategy execution across multiple product lines for consistency and alignment
- Approve key assortment decisions, vendor partnerships, and product launches
- Lead vendor negotiations and long-term supplier relationship management
- Own category financial performance including revenue, margin, forecasting, and profitability
- Partner with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to drive strategic initiatives
- Present insights, business cases, and performance updates to senior stakeholders
