Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in payroll operations using Workday
  • Proven experience managing full-cycle payroll for both US (multi-state) and Canadian employees
  • Strong understanding of payroll tax regulations across US federal, state, and local jurisdictions
  • Canadian payroll knowledge
  • Experience handling equity compensation payroll including RSUs, NSOs, and ISOs
  • Hands-on experience supporting month-end close, journal entries and GL reconciliations
  • Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and large dataset analysis
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end payroll processing for US (multi-state) and Canadian employees across multiple payroll cycles
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll inputs including hires, terminations, tax updates, garnishments, and adjustments
  • Serve as the primary payroll contact for employees and internal stakeholders
  • Manage Workday Payroll operations, including reporting, EIB uploads, deductions, and system troubleshooting
  • Support equity compensation payroll processes including RSUs, NSOs, and ISOs
  • Prepare payroll journal entries, reconcile payroll-related GL accounts, and support month-end close activities
  • Ensure compliance with US and Canadian payroll regulations
  • Lead year-end payroll activities such as W-2, T4, and related reconciliations and filings
  • Drive process improvements, automation, and internal control enhancements
