Requirements
- Strong experience with Ruby on Rails in API-only mode
- Solid PostgreSQL knowledge including schema design and query awareness
- Experience designing REST APIs and HTTP integrations
- Hands-on experience with background job processing (Sidekiq)
- Experience implementing JWT-based authentication
- Proven RSpec testing discipline with FactoryBot and WebMock/VCR
- Working knowledge of modern frontend frameworks (React, TypeScript)
- Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants
- Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance and PHI handling
- Familiarity with Git-based workflows
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain a Rails API that serves dental scheduling data to a React frontend
- Model and evolve PostgreSQL schemas using ActiveRecord migrations targeting Azure PostgreSQL Hyperscale
- Manage data mapping across dental practice management systems and the Cosmos DB data layer
- Integrate with external healthcare systems via HTTP and Azure AI services
- Implement and maintain Azure AD B2C JWT authentication middleware
- Build and operate background jobs using Sidekiq and Redis
- Write and maintain comprehensive RSpec test suites
- Contribute to React frontend components and pages as needed
- Participate in AI-augmented development workflows with code ownership
- Maintain documentation and follow conventional commit standards
