Requirements

  • College diploma in a related field or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in property and casualty insurance claims or a related insurance field.
  • Strong knowledge of claims handling processes, insurance principles, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Proven negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills in complex case environments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with strong client service orientation.
  • Advanced proficiency in both French and English due to client and partner interactions.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the Montreal region when required.
  • Ability to work on-call approximately 1–2 weeks per year.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed investigations and assessments of insurance claims, including property damage evaluation, cost estimation, and review of supporting documentation.
  • Analyze medical, financial, and employment-related information to determine eligibility for accident benefits and statutory coverage.
  • Negotiate claim settlements with clients, third parties, and stakeholders to ensure fair, timely, and compliant resolutions.
  • Manage end-to-end claims files in accordance with internal policies, contractual terms, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure deadlines and service standards are met to maintain high levels of client satisfaction and operational efficiency.
  • Prepare, review, and validate reports and documentation required for accurate claims processing and decision-making.
  • Represent the organization professionally in all client interactions, maintaining strong relationship management throughout the claims process.
