Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in at least one U.S. state, or the ability and commitment to obtain a PE license within 12 months of hire
- 5+ years of relevant experience in municipal water or wastewater system planning and design
- Exposure to a variety of treatment systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Responsibilities
- Independently assess community water and wastewater infrastructure needs and identify practical, cost-effective solutions
- Develop clear, well-organized planning documents and technical reports, including Preliminary Engineering Reports (PERs)
- Prepare preliminary and detailed project designs that municipalities can use to secure infrastructure funding
- Lead meetings with community stakeholders to gather information, present recommendations, and foster project support and engagement
- Evaluate and promote innovative water and wastewater treatment technologies
- Analyze the design, cost, and environmental impacts of infrastructure projects
