Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience in SaaS environments.
- 3+ years operating at a Staff, Principal, or Lead level.
- Deep proficiency in Ruby on Rails and relational databases like Postgres.
- Experience evolving a large, mature codebase toward a modular architecture.
- Solid understanding of distributed systems and event-driven architectures.
- Experience shaping AI-augmented engineering workflows.
- Strong foundation in testing, CI/CD, and observability.
- Track record of setting technical direction and building cross-team alignment.
Responsibilities
- Guide the evolution of the Rails monolith, Postgres data layer, and infrastructure.
- Define technical strategy for key projects and align with business goals.
- Define AI-augmented engineering practices for the organization.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to shape requirements and APIs.
- Contribute high-quality code and perform critical reviews.
- Mentor senior and new staff engineers.
- Facilitate incident reviews and strengthen observability.
- Break down large technical initiatives into milestones.
