Requirements
- Master's Degree in Clinical Informatics, Biomedical Informatics, Health Informatics, Nursing Informatics, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in clinical informatics or directly related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience supporting implementation or optimization of clinical information systems/EHR.
- In-depth knowledge of clinical workflows and patient care environments.
- Experience with clinical decision support (CDS) design, build, and governance.
- Proficiency with EHR systems (e.g., VistA, Cerner Millennium, Epic).
- Familiarity with clinical terminology standards (SNOMED CT, LOINC, ICD-10, CPT, RxNorm).
- Knowledge of health information exchange standards (HL7 v2, HL7 FHIR, CDA).
- Strong analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with quality improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, PDSA).
Responsibilities
- Assess information and knowledge-based needs of healthcare professionals and patients.
- Characterize, evaluate, and refine clinical processes.
- Develop, implement, and refine clinical decision support (CDS) systems.
- Lead or participate in procurement, customization, development, implementation, and management of clinical information systems.
- Translate clinical requirements into functional and technical specifications.
- Conduct gap analyses, workflow assessments, and usability evaluations.
- Collaborate with clinical staff, IT teams, and program management.
- Develop training and change management materials.
- Monitor post-implementation performance and recommend enhancements.
- Prepare written reports, presentations, and recommendations.
