Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience working with Medicaid programs in a state agency, consulting environment, or with CMS.
  • Strong knowledge of Medicaid authorities, including waivers, state plan amendments, and related regulatory frameworks.
  • Proven experience analyzing federal and state regulations to inform program design and policy implementation.
  • Background in managing complex policy or operational projects within healthcare or public sector environments.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Public Policy, Public Health, Health Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills with experience collaborating across agencies and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Medicaid policy expertise to support state agencies in designing, implementing, and improving programs.
  • Conduct in-depth research and policy analysis to interpret federal and state regulations.
  • Develop high-quality written deliverables such as policy briefs, implementation timelines, and compliance analyses.
  • Lead and support project execution for Medicaid initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders across state agencies and external partners.
  • Support business development efforts through research and proposal development.
  • Mentor junior consultants and contribute to knowledge sharing.
