Requirements
- Law degree from a recognized university and active bar admission in the country of residence.
- 5+ years of experience in real estate law, with strong focus on development and transactions.
- At least 2 years of experience in construction, real estate, or disputes-related legal matters.
- Prior in-house experience in real estate development, ideally within luxury or large-scale projects.
- Strong understanding of real estate development processes, regulatory frameworks, and property management.
- Proven ability to negotiate and manage complex legal and commercial agreements.
- Excellent drafting, analytical, and negotiation skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Fluency in English and Portuguese, with strong legal drafting capability in English.
- Ability to prioritize complex issues and manage multiple stakeholders effectively.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal guidance across all stages of real estate development projects, including land acquisition, due diligence, permitting, financing, construction, leasing, and sales.
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex legal documents such as purchase agreements, development contracts, leases, construction agreements, and loan documentation.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks associated with real estate and construction transactions.
- Conduct legal research on real estate regulations, compliance requirements, and evolving industry standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional internal teams including development, finance, and construction to support project execution.
- Liaise with external stakeholders such as government agencies, lenders, investors, consultants, and partners.
- Ensure legal strategies are aligned with business goals and support efficient project delivery.
