Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in security, compliance, GRC, vCISO, or security consulting.
- Strong knowledge of GRC, control assessments, access controls, audit readiness, and incident response.
- Experience advising executives or senior operators.
- Experience translating frameworks and regulatory expectations into practical workstreams.
- Familiarity with ISO 27001, NIST CSF, NIST 800-53, CIS Controls, CCPA, GDPR, and HIPAA.
- Experience in finance, venture capital, private equity, or biotech sectors.
- Ability to advise on responsible AI usage and governance.
- Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proficiency in documenting processes, decisions, and recommendations.
- Practical understanding of security tools like IAM, MDM, EDR/XDR, MDR, SIEM, and compliance automation.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a senior security and compliance advisor for Outpost clients, with an emphasis on finance firms and startups.
- Lead consultative client conversations around governance, risk, controls, compliance readiness, secure AI adoption, and security roadmaps.
- Translate client business objectives into practical security and compliance action plans.
- Help clients evaluate and securely adopt AI tools.
- Design, document, and improve Outpost’s service delivery playbooks, templates, and methods.
- Deliver leadership-level roadmapping and project ownership.
- Support compliance with frameworks like SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST CSF, and HIPAA-adjacent requirements.
- Assess and improve client processes such as incident response, vendor risk management, and business continuity.
- Advise on and help implement systems such as IAM, MDR, SIEM, and vulnerability management.
- Share market observations to help productize the Outpost offering.
