Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering or closely related discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years relevant post-qualification experience in underground mine planning, design, and scheduling.
- Experience with mine planning software (e.g., Deswik, MineScape, MineSight 3D, Vulcan, Surpac, Datamine, Gemcom).
- Strong technical writing skills with experience writing technical reports.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and strategic planning skills.
- Experience working with multiple consultants within the mining industry.
- Ability to work independently and provide guidance and leadership to junior team members.
- EIZ Certification (Preferred).
Responsibilities
- Lead mine design efforts for the Mingomba project, including pre-feasibility and feasibility engineering studies.
- Perform strategic mine design and engineering analyses, including sequencing and scheduling using Deswik.
- Conduct engineering trade-off studies, cost estimation, and economic analysis of alternatives.
- Prepare technical documents, including public disclosure documents for Mineral Resources and Reserves.
- Provide feedback to geological and geotechnical modeling.
- Support surface and underground facilities engineering.
- Manage project aspects using KoBold’s Project Management standards.
- Mentor junior-level staff and provide internal technical guidance.
- Identify, develop, and follow through on value engineering opportunities.
