Requirements
- J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school.
- Active membership in good standing in at least one state bar.
- 5-8 years of legal experience, ideally with a mix of law firm and in-house practice.
- Experience advising fintech, payments, banking, or technology companies.
- Familiarity with consumer financial services laws and regulations (UDAAP, EFTA/Regulation E, privacy).
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently.
- Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to simplify complex regulatory requirements into practical guidance.
Responsibilities
- Advise product and business teams on the design, launch, and operation of fintech and payments products.
- Serve as a versatile legal advisor across business units on commercial, regulatory, and corporate matters.
- Provide legal guidance on federal and state laws, including consumer protection, money transmission, and bank partnerships.
- Draft, review, and negotiate agreements, including customer contracts and partnership arrangements.
- Monitor and analyze legal and regulatory developments such as CCPA and licensing requirements.
- Support product teams on feature development and go-to-market strategies.
- Advise on marketing, advertising, and customer communications.
