Requirements
- 12+ years of professional data engineering or software development experience.
- 2+ years of experience providing architectural direction and design oversight.
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or equivalent.
- Substantial experience with SQL.
- Experience with Python for data engineering workflows.
- Experience with containerized application deployments (Docker).
- Experience with large-scale data systems and data warehousing.
- Experience designing data architectures for IoT or high-frequency telemetry systems.
- Experience with AWS (S3, RDS, DMS, VPC).
Responsibilities
- Owns organizational-wide data architecture, defining standards, patterns, and designs.
- Reviews data-related designs and implementations across teams.
- Produces reference implementations, proofs of concept, and hands-on guidance.
- Designs and develops data pipelines, integrations, and platform features.
- Builds and maintains data APIs and ingestion systems.
- Takes responsibility for the quality of data systems and testing strategies.
- Owns the data architecture strategy including database design and data flow.
- Partners with CTO and engineering leadership on long-term architectural direction.
- Designs IoT data ingestion and distribution architecture.
