Requirements
- Proficiency in ModMed EMR (or eClinicalWorks, AthenaHealth, or Kareo).
- Knowledge of orthopedic billing workflows.
- Understanding of CPT/ICD-10 coding and modifiers.
- Expertise in navigating clearinghouses and payer portals.
- Fluency in English and Spanish.
- Ability to perform proactive schedule auditing and benefit verification.
- Strong transparency and communication skills for team collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Audit, work, and resolve outstanding claims and denials older than 30 days.
- Identify back-end denial trends and implement preventative front-end workflows.
- Pursue underpaid or denied claims with commercial and state payers.
- Process and post financial data including EOBs and ERAs.
- Communicate with clinical staff to obtain documentation for claim payments.
- Process patient payments securely over the phone.
- Maintain detailed documentation for all revenue cycle touchpoints.
