Requirements
- 5+ years building and operating production systems, developer-facing APIs, or both.
- Hands-on experience designing and running data-intensive systems at scale.
- Track record of building high-quality, widely-adopted CLIs, SDKs, or API standards.
- Production experience with OSS datastores such as PostgreSQL or Redis.
- Strong backend software engineering skills with production-level experience in Go, Python, or TypeScript.
- Knowledge of cloud object storage, Kubernetes, containerized infrastructure, and cloud platforms (GCP, AWS).
- Hands-on experience with observability stacks (Datadog, Prometheus/Grafana, OpenTelemetry).
- Operational mindset with a focus on 'you build it, you run it, you own it'.
- Strong experience with Java (nice to have).
- Knowledge of columnar file, memory formats and OLAP databases (nice to have).
Responsibilities
- Design and operate high-throughput, data-intensive ingestion and trace-query systems.
- Build monitoring, alerting, and automated recovery for system resilience.
- Define and enforce standards, tooling, and CI for SDK generation across Python, TypeScript, Go, and Java.
- Build and maintain integrations to ensure framework-agnostic usage.
- Debug performance bottlenecks and optimize database queries.
- Architect solutions for distributed-system challenges.
- Participate in an on-call rotation with a focus on post-incident learning and prevention.
