Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in CS, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- Extensive experience administering AWS relational databases.
- Expertise in AWS Aurora architectures.
- Proactive automation experience (schema drift, alerting).
- Deep mastery of MySQL/InnoDB (buffer pool, isolation levels, MVCC).
- Expertise in database performance profiling and query rewriting.
- Ability to communicate complex database concepts to engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Triage and optimize slow queries and indexing strategies.
- Manage multi-tenant architecture across 400+ database schemas.
- Supervise AWS Aurora clusters, including failover and parameter tuning.
- Tune MySQL/InnoDB internals for write-heavy clusters.
- Optimize ETL and data pipelines.
- Leverage performance_schema and sys schema for observability.
- Perform capacity and cost optimization for Aurora instances.
- Mentor software engineers on database architecture.
- Deploy GenAI-powered tools for database diagnostics.
