Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- 6+ years of experience in civil engineering, ideally within land development or private commercial development projects.
- Proven experience managing projects and interfacing directly with clients.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and related civil engineering design tools.
- Solid understanding of site development processes, including grading, drainage, stormwater systems, and permitting.
- Ability to conduct frequent site visits across multiple states (NC, SC, GA and beyond as required).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Support project managers in the preparation, review, and coordination of preliminary and final site plans, construction documents, and engineering deliverables.
- Analyze and interpret survey data, legal descriptions, ALTA surveys, easements, and related documentation to inform accurate site design decisions.
- Contribute to engineering studies and technical reports, including hydrology/hydraulics, stormwater systems, project schedules, and construction estimates.
- Provide construction-phase support, including permit documentation, quantity takeoffs, and coordination with field activities.
- Utilize Civil 3D and other engineering software tools to produce high-quality, on-time, and budget-compliant project outputs.
- Mentor and guide junior engineering staff to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and professional development within project teams.
- Assist with client coordination and site visits across multiple states to support project execution and compliance.
- Develop project management capabilities through active involvement in increasingly complex assignments and responsibilities.
