Requirements
- Meaningful experience in security architecture, application security, or cloud security.
- Strong understanding of security risks in modern multi-tenant SaaS architectures (APIs, microservices, event-driven patterns, identity, data protection).
- Experience leading threat modeling, architecture reviews, and risk assessments.
- Cloud security depth (AWS preferred; Azure or GCP valued).
- Experience securing third-party and customer integrations at scale.
- Experience in K–12 or higher education ecosystems is a strong advantage.
- Ability to operate with ambiguity and exercise agency in risk-based decision-making.
- AI-native behavior: active use of AI and understanding of its associated risks/guardrails.
- Strong collaboration and influence skills.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted security advisor to engineering and product teams, offering clear guidance on secure architecture, design decisions, and remediation strategies.
- Review system and application architectures, identifying gaps and aligning solutions with Product Security Framework and zero-trust principles.
- Conduct architectural assessments, threat modeling, and data flow reviews during the development lifecycle.
- Advise on secure implementation of cloud-native services, IAM, encryption, storage, and serverless patterns.
- Evaluate new technologies and third-party integrations for security impact and enterprise standard alignment.
- Lead risk-based trade-off discussions and document key decisions.
- Create secure architectural reference patterns for recurring use cases.
- Mentor junior security engineers and developers on architectural thinking and secure design.
- Partner with DevSecOps to create secure design patterns in CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code.
