Requirements
- BS degree in Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 7-10+ years of engineering experience in Database Engineering, Systems Engineering, DevOps, or SRE.
- Expertise in managing PostgreSQL.
- Proficiency in Linux environments.
- Experience with cloud-based compute, storage, and containerization, specifically Azure and Kubernetes.
- Expertise with observability/monitoring platforms such as Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, or New Relic.
- Experience in Agile/DevOps environments and ITSM practices.
- Scripting and automation skills using Bash, PowerShell, Python, or Ansible.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain high-availability, high throughput PostgreSQL database systems.
- Define and improve service reliability through monitoring, alerting, and SLO-oriented metrics.
- Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and post-incident corrective actions.
- Partner with technical leaders to ensure system supportability and maintainability.
- Provide on-call coverage for production support.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA security policies.
- Develop and improve database observability using tools like Datadog, Prometheus, or Grafana.
- Automate maintenance tasks and manage infrastructure as code using Ansible.
