Requirements
- At least six years of professional software development experience.
- At least four years of professional experience with TypeScript (strict mode).
- Production experience with a modern Node/Bun backend framework (e.g., Hono, Express).
- Production experience with a typed ORM (Prisma preferred).
- Experience writing complex SQL queries against PostgreSQL.
- Experience with background job systems (e.g., BullMQ).
- Production experience with React and Next.js.
- Production experience writing integration tests against real databases.
- Fluency in AI-driven engineering workflows (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor).
- Ability to collaborate during US time zones.
Responsibilities
- Port modules from legacy Express API to new Hono API with integration test coverage.
- Decompose large React components and convert legacy code to strict-mode TypeScript.
- Improve frontend performance and data integrity.
- Build new customer-facing features behind feature flags.
- Investigate and resolve customer-reported bugs through code archaeology.
- Conduct peer code reviews.
- Utilize automated testing and deployment pipelines as a safety net.
