Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience with emphasis on power systems.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in transmission planning and/or power generation interconnections.
  • Working knowledge of generation interconnection tariffs, agreements, and requirements.
  • Knowledge of distribution-interconnected projects.
  • Understanding of power delivery, transmission system planning, and grid operation.
  • Familiarity with power flow modeling and results.
  • Strong project management and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent public speaking and technical writing capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day interconnection process for new and existing projects.
  • Oversee consultants and subject matter experts for application deliverables and engineering reviews.
  • Build relationships with utilities, ISOs, and industry representatives.
  • Advise project development and business development teams on interconnection risks and opportunities.
  • Evaluate utility system loading and interconnection costs for new site selection.
  • Perform due diligence on interconnection and transmission risks for project acquisitions.
  • Support project sale, financing, and PPA processes.
