Requirements
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CPA).
- 5+ years of experience in accounting policy, technical accounting, or Big 4 accounting advisory.
- Strong, hands-on knowledge of IFRS, particularly IFRS 9.
- Proven track record within a banking institution or Big 4 banking/financial services practice.
- Demonstrated experience in managing workloads across a team.
- Ability to facilitate technical debate and drive alignment among senior leaders.
- Strong capability to communicate technical standards into practical guidance.
- Sharp prioritisation and organisational skills.
- Resilience and flexibility in an agile environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice on complex accounting issues and document conclusions in technical memos.
- Develop and maintain global accounting policies ensuring compliance with IFRS.
- Lead projects for the adoption of new accounting standards.
- Partner with commercial and product teams to evaluate accounting implications of new propositions.
- Manage the intake of technical queries and delegate project components to the wider finance team.
- Establish and chair an internal technical accounting forum.
- Act as the dedicated technical accounting partner to the business.
- Lead technical dialogue with external auditors and justify reported positions.
