Requirements

- 3-5 years of underwriting or related insurance experience
- Strong ability to evaluate risk independently
- Strong customer service experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to quickly learn industry-specific software
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Property & Casualty Brokers License (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Independently attend broker visits and conduct broker meetings.
- Utilize underwriting guidelines, rules, and standards to accept, reject, or mitigate risk.
- Determine appropriate premiums, limits, and coverages for complex applications.
- Approve or decline applications within assigned authority limits.
- Prepare referral submissions for risks exceeding individual authority.
- Document underwriting files, including risk analysis and pricing justification.
- Verify supplementary data for submissions using multiple databases and specialized software.
