Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering preferred
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
  • 15+ years of geotechnical engineering experience
  • Strong knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles, soil and rock mechanics, slope stability, and settlement analysis
  • Experience with geotechnical investigations, foundation design, and construction materials testing
  • Proficiency with geotechnical software including slope stability, pile modeling, and site response analysis tools
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers and reviewing technical work
  • Successful past testimony history preferred
  • Ability to travel to project sites and access active construction sites

Responsibilities

  • Lead geotechnical investigations, analyses, and design for infrastructure and transportation projects.
  • Plan and oversee subsurface explorations, laboratory testing, instrumentation monitoring, and geotechnical data interpretation.
  • Perform analyses and design for foundations, retaining walls, slope stability, seepage, earthwork, and seismic/geohazard mitigation.
  • Provide geotechnical support during construction activities including grading, pile driving, drilled shafts, trenching, and foundation construction.
  • Review and approve geotechnical reports, construction documents, and consultant designs.
  • Develop project scopes, proposals, budgets, and schedules for geotechnical investigations and design services.
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, government agencies, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Mentor and supervise junior engineers and technical staff.
  • Support business development efforts and maintain strong client relationships.
