- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering preferred
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
- 15+ years of geotechnical engineering experience
- Strong knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles, soil and rock mechanics, slope stability, and settlement analysis
- Experience with geotechnical investigations, foundation design, and construction materials testing
- Proficiency with geotechnical software including slope stability, pile modeling, and site response analysis tools
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience mentoring junior engineers and reviewing technical work
- Successful past testimony history preferred
- Ability to travel to project sites and access active construction sites
Responsibilities
- Lead geotechnical investigations, analyses, and design for infrastructure and transportation projects.
- Plan and oversee subsurface explorations, laboratory testing, instrumentation monitoring, and geotechnical data interpretation.
- Perform analyses and design for foundations, retaining walls, slope stability, seepage, earthwork, and seismic/geohazard mitigation.
- Provide geotechnical support during construction activities including grading, pile driving, drilled shafts, trenching, and foundation construction.
- Review and approve geotechnical reports, construction documents, and consultant designs.
- Develop project scopes, proposals, budgets, and schedules for geotechnical investigations and design services.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, government agencies, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Mentor and supervise junior engineers and technical staff.
- Support business development efforts and maintain strong client relationships.
