Requirements

  • 5+ Years in Live Broadcast Graphics experience.
  • Deep technical proficiency with industry-standard broadcast graphics engines (e.g., Ross Xpression, Vizrt, Chyron) or modern cloud-based live graphics systems.
  • Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects).
  • Deep understanding of sports culture and advanced metrics.
  • Hawk-eyed attention to detail.
  • Ability to remain calm under fire and work in high-pressure live environments.

Responsibilities

  • Translate advanced sports analytics into clean, intuitive, and visually compelling on-screen graphics.
  • Review the daily show rundown and collaborate with producers to build out all necessary visual assets prior to air.
  • Act as the primary graphics operator during the live broadcast, triggering elements in real-time.
  • Build custom graphics on the fly during live breaking news scenarios under tight time constraints.
  • Ensure strict adherence to The Athletic and The New York Times visual brand guidelines.
  • Manage and organize the graphics playout system library and streamline workflows.
  • Package and hand off key graphics templates and elements to the Social Producer.
