- Prior experience managing multiple teams or multiple charters.
- Strong decision maker who effectively balances ambiguity, available data, speed, and quality.
- Track record of maintaining and scaling shared infrastructure in measurable, concrete ways.
- Participated in developing or driving engineering-wide initiatives in a prior role.
- Experience managing complex, long-term projects that touch multiple teams.
- Effective communicator and story-teller, able to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
- Open to using AI to amplify skills and strengthen work.
Responsibilities
- Lead and grow high-performing platform engineering teams that deliver reliable, scalable infrastructure and operational excellence.
- Set technical direction and drive multi-quarter platform initiatives spanning infrastructure reliability, security, scalability, and developer experience.
- Partner closely with product engineering, security, and engineering leadership to identify organizational needs.
- Translate ambiguous infrastructure challenges into clear roadmap priorities, and deliver scalable platform solutions.
- Design and evolve internal platforms, paved roads, and abstractions that enable product teams to ship independently.
- Guide the evolution of Vanta’s cloud and data infrastructure, including AWS services and MongoDB.
- Establish strong engineering culture, operational standards, and ownership practices.
